frequently asked questions (FAQ)
WE ANSWERED EVERY QUESTION YOU MAY HAVE OR MADE WONDERING ABOUT DİREN.
-
Do wines have an expiration date?
There is no recommended consumption timing written on wines, because many people perceive it as an expiration date. Wines do not have an expiration date, but it is recommended to consume them within the recommended consumption timing, that is, at a time when the wine will not lose its aromas that determine its identity.
The recommended consumption timing for red wines is 5-10 years after bottling, the recommended consumption timing for rosé wines is 1-3 years after bottling, and for white wines it is 2-5 years. -
How can we preserve wine?
Before opening, it should be stored horizontally, at a temperature of 15-20 degrees, in a dark, vibration-free and odor-free environment..
-
How many days can we consume wine after it is opened?
It should be consumed within 2-3 days, kept tightly closed in the refrigerator.
-
Are the wines you produce dessert wines?
Alcohol leaves a sweet feeling when the alcohol content is 14% and above and is drunk slightly cool. This reason may leave an impression that the wines are sweet.
The majority of our portfolio consists of dry wines, and we also have wines in the demi-sweet, semi-sweet and dessert classes. -
What causes color differences in wines?
In order to obtain red color during the red wine making process, skin maceration is done, that is, the wine is left in contact with the skin for a while, during which color substances pass into the wine. In white and rose wine production, grapes are sent directly to be pressed. The color of white grapes is yellow-light green, while red grapes produce juice in pink tones.
-
Do you use additives in your wines?
There are no additional additives other than sulfur used as a preservative..
-
Is sulfur used in the production of wines?
Sulfur is added to all our wines to prevent microbiological spoilage.
-
I have wine from the years 1975-1980-1990, can I consume it? Or would you consider buying back these wines, do they have financial value?
Wine from previous years has passed the recommended consumption period and has lost its aromatic structure that indicates the identity of the wine. The wine is not spoiled, it is suitable for consumption, but it will not make you feel the pleasure during the recommended consumption period..
-
Are your wines vegan?
All our wines are vegan.
-
The X yield of the same product was very good, why does the new Y yield taste different?
Due to climate differences in each harvest, the grapes from our vineyards may show different characteristics in terms of body, structure and aroma over the years.
-
Is it normal for there to be sediment at the bottom of the wine?
Particularly in red wines, sediment can naturally be observed after 5 years of age. At younger ages, it may cause sedimentation if it is not stored at the appropriate temperature; sedimentation is not observed in white and rosé wines. Tiny white crystals may appear in white and rosé wines in very cold environments (when forgotten in the refrigerator). These are natural acid crystals, they do not mean that the wine has spoiled; can be consumed safely.
